Cookie Policy

Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. Sellzw also uses local storage, which works the same way for our purposes. This page lists what we store, why, and how to change it. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.

Strictly necessary

These keep the platform working. They cannot be switched off, because without them you cannot sign in, buy, or get paid.

  • Sign-in session (cookies beginning sb-, set by Supabase, our authentication provider). Keeps you signed in and ends when you sign out or the session expires.
  • Security. Protects forms and admin actions against cross-site request forgery, and carries two-factor verification state.
  • Your cookie choice (sellzw_consent, 180 days). Records what you agreed to here, so we do not ask again on every page.
  • Dashboard preferences (local storage, for example your light or dark theme). Stays in your browser and is never sent to us.

Affiliate attribution (optional)

Off unless you turn it on. Sellers can invite affiliates to promote their products for a commission. If you allow this, arriving through an affiliate link stores that link's code (aff_ref, 30 days) so the person who referred you is still credited if you leave and buy on a later visit.

To be clear about what declining does and does not do: if you buy during the same visit, the referrer is credited either way. The code travels in the link you clicked and is sent with your order, and nothing is kept on your device once you leave. This setting only controls the 30-day memory that survives you closing the page.

Either way it does not change what you pay, and it is not used to advertise to you. Switching it off later deletes the stored code straight away.

Analytics (optional)

Off unless you turn them on. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages are used or broken. It measures visits, not people, and we do not use it to build a profile of you.

Separately, and regardless of this setting, we count how many times each product and landing page is viewed so sellers can see the performance of their own store. That count is aggregate, stored on our own servers, and uses a value in your browser (sellzw:view:...) purely to avoid counting the same visit twice within 30 minutes.

Marketing (optional)

Off unless you turn them on. Sellers can connect their own Meta (Facebook) Pixel to their store, product and checkout pages to measure and target their advertising. If you allow this category, that pixel loads on the stores you visit and sets Meta's own cookies, typically _fbp and _fbc. If you do not, the pixel is never loaded and nothing is sent to Meta.

Support chat

Signed-in sellers get a live chat widget in the dashboard, provided by Tawk.to. It sets its own cookies to keep your conversation together across pages. It only loads inside the dashboard, never on a storefront or checkout page.

Third parties we rely on

Payment providers, our hosting and database providers, and the services named above may set cookies of their own when their part of the platform is in use. Their handling of that data is governed by their own policies.

Changing your mind

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the button below. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings, or block them entirely, though blocking the strictly necessary ones will stop sign-in and checkout from working.
