How Sellzw handles personal information, in line with Zimbabwe's Cyber and Data Protection Act [Chapter 12:07].

Effective date: 2026-08-20 · Version 1.0

1. Who is responsible for your data

COURAGETHAN PVT LTD ("Sellzw", registration no. 111201A1052026), 005 Simon Mazorodze, Gweru, Zimbabwe, is the data controller for personal information processed through the platform. For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, contact courage@sellzw.com.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide and information generated as you use the platform, including:

  • Account details: name, email, password (stored hashed by our auth provider), store details;
  • Seller verification / KYC: legal name, national ID, and any documents you submit;
  • Order and payment records: products, amounts, payment references, buyer contact details;
  • Technical data: IP address, device / browser information, and cookies (see below);
  • Communications: support messages and reports you send us.

3. Why we use it

We use personal information to operate the marketplace, create and secure accounts, process payments and deliver purchases, provide support, prevent fraud and money laundering, meet legal and regulatory obligations, and improve the service. We rely on your agreement, our legitimate interests in running a safe marketplace, and our legal obligations as the bases for processing.

4. Who we share it with (processors)

We share personal information only as needed to run the service, including with:

  • Supabase — database, authentication and file storage;
  • Pesepay — payment processing;
  • Resend — transactional and marketing email delivery;
  • Meta / Facebook Pixel — advertising analytics, only if you allow marketing cookies.

We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect the platform and its users. We do not sell your personal information.

5. How long we keep it

We retain account, transaction and verification records for as long as your account is active and thereafter as required for financial, anti-money-laundering, tax and legal purposes. When you close your account we deactivate it and retain records under a controlled retention approach rather than immediately erasing them, because we are required to keep transaction and compliance records. Contact courage@sellzw.com for details about a specific record.

6. Your rights

Subject to the Cyber and Data Protection Act and other applicable law, you may ask to access or correct your information, object to or restrict certain processing, and request deletion where we are not required to keep the data. To exercise a right, contact courage@sellzw.com. You may also lodge a complaint with Zimbabwe's Data Protection Authority (POTRAZ).

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and two-factor authentication for administrators. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

8. Cookies

We use cookies to keep you signed in and to process orders, and, if you allow them, for analytics and seller advertising. The Cookie Policy lists each one and lets you change what you allow at any time.

9. Changes and contact

We may update this policy; the effective date and version above show the current version. For any privacy matter, contact courage@sellzw.com.
