How Do I See Which Posts and Ads Are Bringing In Sales?

Quick answer: Share tracked links in every post and ad, then open your Sellzw dashboard. The Sales by source section groups your sales by source and campaign, such as whatsapp · launch_week or facebook · ad_video_a, with revenue, units sold and share of sales. The sales funnel shows where buyers drop off. Compare revenue with what you spent to judge each ad.

Key points

  • Sales by source = which link made the money.
  • The sales funnel = where people drop off before paying.
  • Revenue shown is your earnings after Sellzw's fee.
  • Untagged sales show as Organic / direct.

Step 1: Tag everything you share

The report can only show what you've tagged. Before posting or advertising, build a tracked link in Marketing pixels → Create a tracked link and use it instead of your plain link. See What is a tracked link?

Step 2: Read the Sales by source report

Open your dashboard home and scroll to Sales by source. Choose a date range: last 7 days, 30 days, 90 days or all time.

Each row looks like this:

facebook · cake_launch, $54.00 · 6 sold · 45%

Part Meaning
facebook The source (where you shared the link)
cake_launch The campaign name you gave it
$54.00 What you earned from those sales, after Sellzw's fee
6 sold Number of paid orders
45% Share of your earnings in this date range

Rows are ranked by revenue, so your best sources are at the top. Sales without tracking tags are grouped as Organic / direct.

Step 3: Check the sales funnel

Your dashboard also shows how many people make it through each step:

  1. Product views
  2. Reached checkout
  3. Started payment
  4. Paid

Sellzw highlights your biggest drop and suggests a fix:

Biggest drop What it usually means What to try
Views → Checkout People look but don't tap Buy Improve your price, cover image and description
Checkout → Started payment People reach checkout but don't pay Reassure buyers the payment is secure, and reduce friction
Started payment → Paid Payments start but don't finish Often an EcoCash PIN drop-off or low balance. Follow up, and mention other payment options

Step 4: Work out whether an ad paid for itself

Compare the campaign's revenue with what you spent on it:

Return on ad spend = revenue from the ad ÷ amount spent on the ad

Ad Spent Revenue (Sales by source) Return Verdict
facebook · ad_video_a $10 $36 3.6× Keep it and increase the budget slowly
facebook · ad_image_b $10 $9 0.9× Change the image or offer, or stop it
tiktok · ad_tip_1 $5 $0 0× Try a new video before spending more

For digital products, returns above about 2× are usually worth continuing, but set your own target.

Step 5: Dig deeper with your Orders export

Go to Orders and export to a spreadsheet. Each order includes the UTM source, medium and campaign, so you can sort by product, see which products sell from which platform, and spot your best days.

Step 6: Compare with ad platform reports

Ads Manager and TikTok's reports use your pixels, so they show clicks, costs and reach, but they undercount sales, because some buyers reject optional cookies or close the page before the success screen. Use them for clicks and costs, and use Sales by source for real sales. More in Why don't some visits show up?

What should I do with the results?

  • Double down on the source and campaign at the top of the list: post there more and repeat the message that worked.
  • Fix or drop anything that gets clicks but no sales.
  • Test one change at a time, for example a new cover or a new first line, using a new utm_content label, so you know what made the difference.
  • Check weekly. Patterns show up after a week or two of consistent posting.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the Sales by source report?

On your Sellzw dashboard home page. It lists your sales grouped by source and campaign for the date range you choose: the last 7, 30 or 90 days, or all time.

What does "Organic / direct" mean?

Sales that didn't come through a tracked link, for example from someone who typed your link, used your plain store link, or found you another way. Use tracked links everywhere to make this group smaller.

Is the revenue in Sales by source before or after fees?

After. It shows what you earn from those sales after Sellzw's platform fee, so you can compare it directly with what you spent on ads.

How do I know if an ad was worth it?

Compare the revenue for that ad's campaign in Sales by source with what you spent on the ad. If you earned $30 from a $10 ad, it returned 3 times its cost. If you earned less than you spent, change or stop it.
